Thank you
For the readership and pushback
After years of writing Generational, I’m stepping away as I begin a new role in OpenAI.
I’m very grateful to everyone who read along, especially those who have been here since the beginning, when I first published a report on foundation models and the business landscape around them (before ChatGPT). Four editions later, and after the biggest one yet in January 2026, your readership, feedback, and pushback made the work better and sharpened my thinking.
The timing feels bittersweet because I have a run of long-form pieces lined up, including the recent essay on whether there is an AI bubble and the now forever-draft of The Future of SaaS, along with a pile of other unpublished analysis. In a way, that feels true to the spirit of Generational. I always wanted to publish only when there was something worth saying. Something worth your time.
Thank you again for reading, and for all the support. If you’d like to stay in touch, you can find me on LinkedIn.
